Moving on up....

--
to the Toddler Room!!!!

That's right, today was Brooklyn's first day in the Toddler Room at "school"! She will now get to play outside during the day and she will no longer nap in a crib - she'll nap on a cot like the big kids!!!!

Bella, The Jeep and Paxton

--
We walked down to Nana and PawPaw's house one Sunday for lunch and Bella decided she wanted to try and drive the Jeep they have at their house. She would push the accelerator and it would and then she'd stop! In the end, Paxton drove her home in the jeep with the rest of us following behind! This is one of the good parts of living in such a rural area - they were able to "drive" home in the jeep in the road!! Bella had the best time riding with Paxton - she was smiling and giggling the whole time and Paxton was quite a good driver!

Modeling a few clothes...

--

Brooklyn is obsessed with always having a cup in her hand, so I couldn't get her to stop drinking (and stand still) for me to take the picture)...

Independence

--
Brooklyn decided she wanted something from on top of the dishwasher and I guess since we were not quick enough to meet her demands, she slid the chair from the table, into the kitchen, climbed into the chair and onto the dishwasher!

Could it be...

that Brooklyn will be potty trained before Bella???

In case you're wondering....

The lack of posts is due to work being crazy busy and a sick little girl at home! Brooklyn seems to have an ear infection. We will hold off on taking her to the doctor to see if we can self-doctor it (we use garlic ear drops) before taking her in! She started running a fever Sunday night around bedtime and we tried to keep a cool wash cloth on her (which she did not like at all) and keeping lots of water in her. She continued with the fever yesterday and had a slight fever this morning(only 99.6) but has been fever free since! We gave her a bit of Tylenol to help her get some rest last night (won't be doing that again - we'll stick to the Motrin as I think the Tylenol is what "wired" her for the night given she's never had Tylenol). She got to stay home with Nana (Brannon's mom) yesterday and Nana came back over today and kept both girls at home!!! She seems to be better today! Last night was ohh so fun with a little party between the hours of 12 midnight and 3 AM! Both girls were up and did not want to go to sleep. I finally put Brooklyn in her bed and she cried herself to sleep (I felt horrible for this given she is sick) - she only cried for a few minutes! Bella finally gave in and fell asleep as well!

Thank you Nana for taking such good care of the girls!!!

Worth reading...

An Amazing Story. Tricia is a young wife and mother who has Cystic Fibrosis. I happened upon the blog of her husband, Nate. The blog journals Tricia's pregnancy with Gwyneth, who was born prematurely in January and Tricia's wait for a new set of lungs! Well, Tricia got her new lungs on none other than her husband's 27th birthday! Their story is amazing! If you have time pop over and take a look. Nate is taking a bit of a break from the blog - but someone else is doing their best to update!

Brooklyn

--
Brooklyn refused to stay out of the street on Sunday and people drive soooo fast down our street (and we live in the middle of nowhere rural Alabama)! So she was banished to the indoors. I was in the kitchen getting supper ready for that night as well as cooking ahead for the week, so I had to think of something to occupy her so I could be productive! I decided to put some dry beans in a loaf pan, give her a couple of little pans and a wooden spoon - SHE LOVED IT!!! Then she found my little broom and dustpan and tried to use that as well. There were dry beans all over my kitchen - but that's what a vaccum cleaner is for, right? P.S. - she only has one shoe on and no socks because she has this quirk where she is constantly taking off her shoes and socks (I mean every time we get in the car - they're off before we arrive at our destination)!

Snacktime - OUTSIDE!!

--
The weather was beautiful on Sunday (a bit breezy)- so the girls went outside while Daddy worked in the yard! I fixed them a snack to take outside with them as well.

Multiple Sclerosis

I have a friend, Jen, who has just signed up for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's MS150 Bike Ride! In addition to riding 150-miles, she is also raising money for the MS Society. If you feel so inclined to donate you can do so by CLICKING HERE. If you do not wish or cannot donate - just remember Jen as she prepares for the bike ride as well as all those who have MS and deal with the disease on a daily basis!

Good luck, Jen!

With a heavy heart...

After much contemplation, I have decided to shut down our blog. I find myself spending too much time posting to the blog and way too much time reading other's blogs. This unfortunately will be my last post. I will continue to read other's blogs - I will just have to limit the time I spend doing so. Before I go I wanted to leave you with one of my favorite pictures. Click Here for the picture.

Thank you to everyone who has visited and commented on my blog - I have had a blast doing it!

Signing off,

A few more conversations...

--

Last night we were driving home from school and I always try to get Bella to tell me about her day (I also ask Brooklyn but she usually just smiles at me)!
--
Bella bowed her head and got her "upset" face on and this was the conversation:

Bella: I bad at school today.
Me: You were bad at school today? What did you do?
Bella: Abby Tate (it is actually Abby Kate) hit me.
Me: Abby Kate hit you today? Did Abby Kate say she was sorry?
Bella: BIG PIG!! (haha - she had a library book in her lap about going to a farm and I guess she found a big pig)

So I don't know exactly what happened at school - but she was very glad when Abby Kate got there this morning - so I guess there were no hard feelings.

This conversation took place in the bathroom last night and again this morning while Bella was using her potty as a stool (I mean what else is a potty for) and making faces in the mirror:

Me: Bella, what are you doing in the bathroom?
Bella: I justa lookin at myself

This conversation took place this morning when I was getting Bella up to get dressed for school:

Me: (turning on light in my bedroom - b/c this is where Bella slept again last night)
Bella: It's too bright; turn light off; it's too bright
Me: Good morning. It's time to wake up - time to face the day
Bella: turn light off; it too bright!

She did finally get out of bed but then the usual battle of getting her dressed began! The joys of a 2-year old!

Planting flowers with Daddy

--
On Easter Sunday, after Brannon cut the grass, he and Bella planted "her" flowers!! We had picked up some seeds a while back and she has been wanting to plant them so badly!! The child loves flowers and especially loves to pick them - we will never be able to take her to a botanical gardens because we would be arrested for picking the flowers! Here are some pictures of them planting "her" flowers! Oh and she checks on them everyday and reports "they ready to grow, Momma"!

I know it's a bum shot - but they looked so cute planting the flowers together....

I had tried to keep Brooklyn inside because it was quite chilly that day and she had a runny nose - but she wanted to be a part of it, so we did go outside for a few minutes (she wouldn't keep her hat on, though)!
