Merry Christmas - Card Option 1

--
I did not get around to getting pictures taken for Christmas cards this year. My excuse is that Brady was born so close to Christmas and the picture studio was booked until the day after Christmas (which they really were - I called!). So in lieu of Christmas cards in the mail - I give you Option 1 for the Parmer Family 2008 Christmas Card!

Sprinkling the Magic Reindeer Food

--
In this post I shared with you our recipe for Magic Reindeer Food. Before going to bed - we sprinkled (or dumped) the Reindeer food onto the front lawn so that Santa's Reindeer will be sure to find our house!

Treats for Santa

--
Before heading to bed - we prepared Santa's tray of goodies. We left out for his enjoyment - the gingerbread house we decorated, peanut butter cookies with Hershey Kisses, brownies with chocolate icing and sprinkles and a Capri Sun (this is what the girls wanted Santa to have to drink)!

What do you leave out for Santa?

Christmas Eve

--
The girls and I decorated a gingerbread house this morning before going to lunch at Van and Debbie's. I just don't think I'm very good at this decorating thing - but here is our Gingerbread house!

Christmas with Nana and Pop

--
After eating lunch at Van and Debbie's - Nana and Pop came back to our house and we "did" Christmas with them! The girls each got a Cabbage Patch Doll, a Princess Barbie Doll (Bella - Cinderella; Brooklyn - Snow White), pajamas and clothes! Brady got some onesies (the good ones that snap on the side and you don't have to pull them over his head), some little pants and a Teddy Bear! Bella is really into opening presents. Brooklyn on the other hand didn't quite get enough of a nap - so she'd only open her presents in Pop's lap! Thank you Nana and Pop!!!

Christmas with the Woods

--
Today (Christmas Eve) we went to Dianne's (aka Nana, Brannon's mom) brother and his wife's house for Christmas lunch! It was a fun visit. The girls, of course, got presents - they each got a Disney sippy cup (one Minnie Mouse and one Princess) and then they got an Art center thingy! It is a Vtech and you can hook it up to the TV or a PC and it projects your images onto the screen - it also has a digital camera with it. We didn't have the 8 batteries it required - so I haven't had a chance to look at it and "figure out" how exactl it works!

Christmas with the Jennings/Dukes

--
On Sunday (12.21.2008) - we had Christmas with Pop's sister and her family. She has two children who each have two children of their own. The "kids" range in age from 2 weeks to 4 years - Ryan is 4, Kameron is almost 4, Kylee Anne is 3, Bella is 3, Brooklyn is 2, Avery is 1, and Brady is 2 weeks! The three girls (Kameron, Kylee Anne and Bella) are all within about 8 months of age and they play really well together! The girls always love getting to play with their cousins! Each of the girls got an adorable Anne Geddes doll - Bella got a sunflower doll and Brooklyn got a butterfly doll and Brady got some very cute little outfits!! It was a very fun evening - Thanks Carol!

Magic Reindeer Food

--
The girls and I made "magic reindeer food" and thought we'd share the recipe, so Santa's reindeer can find your house as well!
--
Ingredients needed:
Oats
Sugar
Red Sprinkles
Green Sprinkles
--
In a container of your choice, place 1 layer of oats, then sprinkle red (or green) sprinkles, then add sugar (this is the largest layer), then green (or red) sprinkles and then top a final layer of oats!
--
You can leave it layered as such or if you, like Bella, prefer for it to be mixed together - shake and mix the ingredients!
--
As far as containers - I used the individual Gerber juice plastic bottles. I tore the label off, tied a ribbon around the perimeter of the bottle and added a bow as a final touch. I then taped the poem below where the juice label once was!
--
Poem to accompany food:
--
Sprinkle on lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home
--

Dear Santa....

--
The girls "wrote" (ok - so they dictated what they wanted while their teachers wrote the letter)letters to Santa at school and they brought them home today!
--
Bella wants gloves and snowflakes for Christmas and Brooklyn wants toys! I have a feeling the glove request will be met as will be the toys - but there isn't much Santa can do about the snowflake request given it is going to be 75 degrees here on Christmas day!
